Guidelines

Applications for the Spring 2012 CSA program open December 20, 2011. To apply, please submit the following materials via our online application form on this site.

Read the guidelines thoroughly. It is best if you prepare the following materials in advance of applying.

Samples of your current work

Please select the appropriate work sample area for your work and upload requested media files with your application or provide links to video content on Vimeo http://www.vimeo.com. Acceptable file formats for uploads include: png, gif, jpg, (IMAGE Samples) pdf (IMAGE and WRITTEN TEXT), and mp3 (AUDIO). The maximum file size limit is 50MB.

  1. VISUAL ARTISTS: Upload 4 images at 72 dpi jpegs, 900 pixels or less in the longest direction.  One of these images should be an image or mock-up of the work you are proposing.
  2. MUSICIANS: Upload 3 audio examples of your work hosted at an outside site. Uploading an image illustrating your final format or packaging for your CSA proposal is also recommended.
  3. PERFORMING ARTS -VIDEO: Please provide links to 3 video examples of your work hosted on the video sharing site Vimeo. Uploading  an image illustrating your final format or packaging for your CSA proposal is also recommended.
  4. WRITERS: Upload 3 writing samples as PDFs.  Uploading an image illustrating your final format or packaging for your CSA proposal is also recommended.

Collaborative Applications

  • CHOOSE A PRIMARY APPLICANT: Submit 1 application
  • You may add up to 3 collaborators on that application
  • Artist’s Statement should be written as a collective statement
  • The primary applicant should submit resume
  • You have the option of uploading an additional 2 page pdf of consolidated bios for the collaborators

A proposal for the work you would create for the project.  Why is this work a good fit for the Community Supported Art program? (500 words max)

A brief artist’s statement about your work. (500 words max)

Two page Artist’s Resume. Please organize your accomplishments into sections (for example: education, employment/professional experience, exhibitions, awards, publications, miscellaneous).

Deadline for submissions is February 3, 2012.

Selected artists will be notified by Mid-February, 2012.

General Guidelines

  • Proposed work must be completed by April 16, 2012.
  • Please contact us if your work sample documentation does not fit the suggested formats.
  • Full stipend and delivery arrangements will be available upon acceptance of contract.
  • The stipend award is intended to assist with the production costs of the pieces.
  • Work should be easily transportable and fit into a 18″ x 12″ x 12″ (L x W x H) box
