The Program

Community Supported Art is an exciting new model of investment that supports artists in the creation of new work, while establishing relationships with local collectors and patrons.

Over the last 20 years, Community Supported Agriculture has become a popular way for consumers to buy seasonal food directly from neighboring farms. Community Supported Art is a similar endeavor, with the same buy-local spirit in mind, to support local art, artists and collectors.

Artists are selected by a jury drawn from the area’s art and food community to receive a stipend of $1,000, great connections to local collectors and promotional support.

This local project is modeled on the successful CSA program in Minneapolis/St. Paul – created by mnartists.org and Springboard for the Arts and supported by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation.
